Drying (Amy’s) Socks

I’m happy to say that Amy’s socks are complete and super cute! (Hi Amy!) That makes for 5 pairs of socks this year (about 4 in the past 3 months)–I think that’s a pretty steady output. I feel confident enough with this basic sock recipe to add socks to my list of quick, travel-appropriate projects that allow me to play with some pretty fun yarn.

And . . . it turns out that our intake vent is perfect for drying woolies. I’ve been using it for socks for a couple of months now and didn’t think much of it–but, heck, it’s a bit of a hack/trick. The blue socks on the left have been through the washing machine and come out just fine.

OooOo and bonus points to anyone who can figure out the subtle mix-up with the color repeats on Amy’s socks . . . they *look* close, but they are not the same πŸ™‚

Wow so many socks! And I was just pleased as punch to complete one pair this year. πŸ™‚ I think I figured out the sock discrepancy. You might have worked the yarn from the opposite end.

my only excuse: too many work trips and plane rides πŸ™‚ Thanks, though! And yes, the color repeat fooled me! I thought I had the right line-up and then: poof! no luck! tricked by yarn!

Lucky girl! The color repeat looked exactly the same to me until I saw the toe, but it is definitely not noticeable and I bet she loves them.
