For the Guild!

So many of us benefit from our local guilds; and, I hear from so many of you that you wish you had a guild in your area! I know my online community–that’s ALL of YOU!–serve as an excellent guild and fiber family. If you are interested in supporting local guilds, there are lots of ways to patronize the arts and services they provide.

Thanks to the magic of the internets, you now have an easy way to support the Champaign-Urbana Spinners and Weavers Guild: check out the link to The Woolery on our guild website. By simply clicking through to The Woolery via this link, your purchases will automatically generate a 5% benefit to the guild. You’ll receive some excellent tools, fiber, and fun from The Woolery, and our guild will use the extra money for our education and outreach, programming, and events in the local community! You can use this link if you are a non-member OR a member!

If your guild would like to get involved and get a banner of your own, get in touch with me and I would be happy to  explain the process and/or put you in contact with the fine team at The Woolery. A little help goes a long way towards keeping the fiber arts alive and well here in C-U and–hopefully–in your neighborhood, as well!

  1. What a good idea! I wonder if there’s anything like this in Ireland? I might have to do some research…

  2. Definitely! There are knitting groups aplenty here, but I love that your guild gets involved in education and public outreach as well… That’s so important!

    • They really are an awesome group of women. I learn so much just being in their presence. Plus, they like to garden, raise chickens, sew, and torch the prairie (in a controlled kind of way) . . . I realize how lucky I am to have them in my fibery-life.
