Late Night Favorites

**If you are looking for the GIVEAWAY and PODCAST, click here**

I am a poor sleeper. I’d rather be up late and–more and more–up early. It’s those rare hours that allow me to get some work and fun done before the mad rush of the day’s distractions. But my husband likes to go to sleep early, and so, I often find myself tucked in and wide awake. What’s a lady to do? How about spending a lot of time on Ravelry!

My favorites list has grown by leaps and bounds–and I’m fairly discriminating . . .

What this really means is that I have a massive stash of pattern dreams, inspiration, and go-tos when I need something new on the needles. And, it’s a great opportunity to think about garment and fabric construction. I find that when I’m a little tired, I absorb it all as if through osmosis πŸ™‚ It’s as if I’ve knitted it all in my sleep.

Anyone else a late night Raveler?Β How many patterns are in your favorites?

Sometimes I can’t ‘make’ myself go to bed at a decent time – so not so much a poor sleeper, more a late night browser, sometimes on Rav. Just discovered a fab quilt you tube ‘blog’ too- the midnight quilter – check it out if you are interested – it makes me want to craft late, with glass of wine and bowl of popcorn!

Sometimes I get in Ravelry when I can’t sleep. But then my mind goes crazy with the possibilities!

  4. I’m with you, Melissa; something about the quiet of the late night feels like the right time to do some serious knitting and pattern research. πŸ™‚ One of my favourite things is to knit up a swatch and then use Ravelry’s search functions to find some corresponding patterns (and then contain the urge to cast on right then and there!). Happy Raveling! πŸ™‚

  5. I just created my Ravelry account this week, but didn’t have time to really look around… Im already so busy with house renovation, and preparing for new baby’s arrival, that I don’t dare to look more closely to what Ravelry has to offer (i do have an idea though 😊)

    • Congrats on all of the newness around you: renovations, babies, whoa! Once you do get into Ravelry, we’ll have to give you a few weeks before we start to worry and try to get a hold of you! Enjoy it all!

  6. Alas, I am unfortunately unlikely ever to discover the joys of late-night Ravelling… I have a serious case of “somnia” which usually sees me yawning my head off by about 10pm! I think I do still have a Ravelry account lurking somewhere in the ether though – I wonder if it’s still there? Do they time out
    due to inactivity? πŸ€”
