I’ve been working on a last minute test knit for Albina of LB Handknits: this is Scéal Grá (pronounced ‘scale grah’), which means ‘love story’ in Irish. It’s a gorgeous top down, seamless pullover with a lace yoke. As always: Albina’s patterns look complex and beautiful, but are easily executed. This pattern was designed for Townhouse Yarns and the Woollinn Festival, which held its inaugural event this May! Until May 31st, you can receive 20% off the pattern by using the code SG518! More on my version below!
I knit my version out of Green Mountain Spinnery’s SockArtLana yarn in the ‘Dungaree’ colorway. It’s a fingering weigh yarn–so the garment does take a bit of time (it took me about 2 weeks)–that comes in 400 yard skeins. I used about 3 1/4 skeins for this sweater. If you wanted to do short sleeves, you could get away with 3 skeins; if you wanted full length sleeves, you would definitely want all 4 skeins! I knit a size 36″ on 2.75mm needles and it’s just the right amount of ease for my 34″ bust. You can check out all of the details on my Ravelry project page!
Happy Knitting!
~Melissa
