KnitCrate June 2018

Some yummy new boxes arrived from KnitCrate for review this month–these are the June Artisan and Sock Crate boxes and the yarn colors are popping for summer!! Soft, superwash merinos, both. Good for socks, shawls, and other fun accessory projects 🙂 I appreciate that these artisan boxes feature indie dyers, small etsy shops, and burgeoning designers. It’s a perfect mix for getting the word out about fun new yarns and fiber folk!

You can check out Fully Spun on Etsy–Brooke Adams is an indie dyer who designs colorways for wool roving. She then ships it off to be mill spun, so all of her skeins are really unique!

And this beauty from KnitLogic came with a pattern from Jo Torr called Ski Slope, which is a perfect design for variegated yarn such as this skein. As you all know, vanilla socks are just fine for variegated yarn, but smart designs break up the colorway so that your eye catches different pools or lines of color.
