Hello crafty peeps! In this episode, I talk all about Tink’s new Alasuq dog sweater; plus, I offer up my pattern writing process. And . . . I’m ready to get the test knitting process started! I’d love to hear what you think of the process and any advice you might have for others who are thinking about getting into size-inclusive pattern writing. Come hang a while? ~Melissa

Amazing colourwork sweater for Tink, Melissa! I am sure she will love it, and sorry to hear about her accident. This was so interesting to listen to, construction-wise! (and yes, the floats on my colourwork capelet from a while ago have since felted into a nice warm extra layer! What an interesting project. π

I don’t grade in chunks the way you are talking about. I usually start with the chest circumference and work my way out, always looking at how the different parts relate to each other. For instance, if I change the underarm cast on for the sleeve that also has to change on the body, and that will affect the increases in the yoke. I set up my spreadsheet so those changes are made automatically, and I can see right away how they affect the measurements.
I’m glad you found a tech editor you like. π
